Marcel Crochet founded Domaine Crochet in 1920 and it is situated in the lovely Loire Valley. At first, it was a small vineyard that concentrated on producing superior Sauvignon Blanc that showcased the distinct terroir of the area. Marcel’s commitment to traditional winemaking won him praise from the community right away.
Marcel Crochet’s son André extended the vineyard and pioneered sustainable farming methods in the 1950s, well ahead of his time. Over the years, the family persisted in their dedication to sustainability and high quality, progressively integrating contemporary methods while maintaining their handcrafted methods.
André’s son Jacques was in charge of Domaine Crochet by the late 20th century, and the company had become well-known across the country. The estate’s other varieties, like the crisp, delicate Sauvignon Blanc, gained recognition for their unique character and elegance.
A new era of innovation was ushered in when Jacques’ daughter Sophie Crochet took over the domaine in the early 2000s. By prioritising organic and biodynamic methods, Sophie enhanced the vineyard’s standing globally. Currently, Domaine Crochet is well-known for its outstanding wines, which are a testament to the Loire Valley’s rich wine history and the family’s unrelenting pursuit of perfection.
