2011 Chateauneuf du Pape Clos de Brusquires

The 2011 Clos des Brusquieres has a garnet rim and a medium ruby colour. Red cherry, raspberry, and plum scents are mixed with earthy undertones, dried herb hints, and faint spice notes like garrigue and black pepper on the nose. Bright acidity and delicate, well-integrated tannins characterise the medium-to-full-bodied palate. It has a rich blend of dark and red fruit flavours, along with earthy, savoury depth and a hint of minerality. There is a pleasing hint of spice and dried herbs in the smooth, long-lasting aftertaste. Now drinking beautifully, this vintage is expressive and elegant. 92 corked Points

2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Chateau La Nerth

The 2015 Chateau La Nerthe is a rich scarlet with a nose of luscious plums, blackberries, and black cherries, mingled with black pepper, garrigue, and sweet spices like vanilla and clove. It has a rich texture, silky tannins that are well integrated, and a full-bodied, luscious palate. Savoury herbs and a touch of minerality counterbalance the wine’s rich fruit flavours, resulting in a lengthy, graceful finish. This vintage is approachable now but has the potential to age further since it captures the warmth and focus of the 2015 growing season. 91 corked Points

1998 Chateau Montrose (more tastings)

The 1998 Chateau Montrose has some bricking around the edges and is a ripe garnet colour. With earthy notes of leather, wood, and tobacco mingled with scents of blackcurrant, plum, and blackberry, the nose is complex. It has a robust body and smooth, well-balanced tannins on the palate. The fruit has developed, displaying savoury components like a cigar box, graphite, and dried herbs together with the flavours of dried dark berries. There is a lingering hint of spice and minerality in the lengthy, elegant aftertaste. The Saint-Estèphe region is eloquently reflected in this classic, mature Bordeaux. 90 corked Points
