The 2015 Barolo Cascina Fontana shows the generosity of the vintage wrapped in a firmly traditional frame, opening with aromas of ripe cherry, wild strawberry and dried rose, followed by hints of anise, tar, iron and sweet spice. On the palate it is structured and commanding, with vibrant acidity, assertive yet finely etched tannins and a long, savoury finish marked by licorice, herbs and earthy minerality, promising graceful evolution over the coming decades.
