2019 Régnié – Domaine Antoine Sunier
Régnié may be the youngest of the Beaujolais crus, but in the hands of Antoine Sunier it shows remarkable definition and composure. Working organically with a restrained touch in the cellar, Sunier captures the granite tension of the appellation rather than leaning into simple fruitiness. The 2019 vintage, warm yet balanced, lends the wine generosity without blurring its lines.
The nose is vivid and precise, offering red cherry, crushed raspberry and pomegranate, layered with violet, white pepper and a subtle smoky mineral nuance. On the palate, it is supple yet energetic, driven by bright acidity and framed by fine, silky tannins. A savoury, stony undertone emerges toward the finish, which lingers with freshness and quiet spice.
Expressive, mineral and quietly structured — a Régnié that speaks clearly of both grower and place.
