2015 Puligny-Montrachet – Domaine Leflaive
Domaine Leflaive’s 2015 Puligny-Montrachet is a beautifully poised example of white Burgundy from a vintage that combined warm, generous ripeness with enough freshness to preserve clarity and lift. Known for wines that marry power with precision, Leflaive here delivers a Chardonnay that feels both expressive and elegantly calibrated — generous in fruit yet grounded in mineral energy.
On the nose there’s an enticing interplay of lemon zest, green apple and white peach, complemented by hints of spring flowers and a subtle almond-skin spice from judicious oak. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with a refined texture: crisp citrus and orchard fruit are framed by bright acidity and a finely etched mineral core. There’s depth without heaviness, and a chalky, slightly saline thread carries through to a finish that resonates with citrus oil, crushed stone and gentle spice.
This is Puligny-Montrachet that feels modern yet classic — immediate in its appeal but built for graceful evolution over the medium term.
