History:
Château St Jacques d’Albas has its roots deeply rooted in the history of the Minervois. It was founded in the 11th century by the monks of the nearby monastery of Caunes-Minervois. The monks recognized the potential of this region for viticulture and began planting the first vines. Over the centuries, the estate changed hands several times until it was finally acquired in the 19th century by the Danglas family, who still own it today.

Grape Varieties:
Château St Jacques d’Albas prides itself on growing a wide range of grape varieties that reflect the diversity of the Minervois. Among the red varieties, Syrah, Grenache Noir, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Cinsault are the most prominent. These varieties give depth, structure and a complex character to the wines of the winery. The white varieties are dominated by Vermentino, Viognier and Grenache Blanc, which bring freshness and elegance to the wines.

Soil types:
One of the most remarkable features of the Minervois is the diversity of its soils, and Château St Jacques d’Albas benefits from this diversity. 2020 La Chapelle en Rose

Pale salmon in the glass, pronounced aromas and flavors, nose of citrus and blossom bit perfumed, palate is dry and elegant, orange , stone fruit, white nectarine, rainier cherry, bit candied, hint of sweet basil, acidity medium +, body medium, finish long and lingering. Very nice alternative to a Provençal tart acid bomb.
