Situated in the southern French region of the Cevennes foothills and along the Mediterranean coast, Chateau Puech-Haut’s vast vines span 625 acres in the Côteaux du Languedoc AOC, of which 230 acres are in Saint Drézéry and 55 acres are in Pic Saint Loup. The estate’s vineyards produce excellent results for Syrah, Grenache, Carignan (with 50–60-year-old vines), Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussanne.
The story of Château Puech-Haut revolves around Gérard Bru, a visionary who built his vineyard from the ground up, following an unwavering dream that he had no doubt about. A plot beyond the Languedoc A.O.C. classification that was originally cultivated with olive trees was purchased by Bru in 1980. He was drawn to the region’s unique terroir and thought that its clay and limestone soils with a pebble layer would be perfect for growing quality grapes. Olives gave way to vines on the land, and the farmhouse became Château Puech-Haut, which began to produce wines a few years later.

The wines of Château Puech-Haut have a rich history and a unique character that makes them stand out. “Our objective is clear: producing the finest wines by honouring and captivating various terroirs is the philosophy of Puech Haut,” says Gérard Bru, summarising the estate’s ethos.
