The 100th anniversary of Baron Philippe de Rothschild’s debut at the family-run Bordeaux winery in 1922 is commemorated by the label.
In Vivre la Vigne, his autobiography published in 1981, Baron Philippe questioned whether his centenary would be celebrated.
Now that Garouste has produced a “heraldic banner” with Baron Philippe and his insignia, a ram, that question has been addressed.
The work is titled Hommage au Baron Philippe and was created by Garouste, a renowned modern artist who was appointed an Officer of the Legion of Honour in 2015.
